My Story
Zanesville, OH
I grew up in a small town just outside of Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from Zanesville High School. I attending a small country Christian Church in the boondocks, decorated with green carpet, maroon pews, and American flag covered lights.
I grew up in Buckeye country, playing football since 5 years old, so naturally I'm an Ohio State Buckeye fan. When I wasn't busy with sports, you could find me hunting in the woods or fishing, being a knuckle-head with my peers, or smashing Donald's Donuts (the greatest donuts on earth).
During my senior year of High School, The Lord captivated my heart to pursue education and full time ministry in Winchester, Virginia.

After moving to Winchester, Virginia I married my beautiful wife and dove head first into ministry while completing my Bachelors Degree in Theology.
One of my greatest theological struggles was the concept of the Trinity. I relied on self-learning through Doug Fields and other successful ministers in the industry to guide in my Church of 1000+
During my tenure in Winchester, I primarily focused on spiritual formation and character development and lead several international mission trips to Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. After five years in full-time ministry, I accepted a position at a Church in Severn, Maryland.

After spending several additional years in the ministry and growing my family by +2, I completed a Masters Degree from Lincoln Christian University.
As I led a mid-sized Church of 300+, my marketing sparked ignited after reading "Story Brand Marketing" by Donald Miller.
It. Just. Made. Sense.
I began applying principles from Donald, paired with Digital Marketing, and we saw explosive growth in new attendees (80%) and membership (20%). After a few Certifications from HubSpot and Google, I resigned from ministry to enter the marketing industry full-time.

Now? I'm a full-time Digital Marketing Professional, serving businesses and organizations to reach their marketing potential.
My mission is to help Churches, Christian Organizations, and Christian owned businesses reach their audience through marketing services.

Where Did You Get The Title "heyRICK"
My precious daughter, Piper, gave me the inspiration for "heyRICK." Here's why...
When she was about 2-3 years old, we would close her door to prevent her from leaving early in the morning. She would drop to her knees and crouch at the bottom of the door and yell, "Ricky! Ricky! HEY RICK," until I opened the door. Remembering her at that age brings me so much joy... and it happens to be a very fitting greeting by friends, "Hey Rick!"
